Audio Book
Definition
An audio book is a recording of a text being read. Audiobooks are distributed on CDs, cassette tapes, and downloadable digital formats. Audiobooks are sometimes available in unabridged (read word for word) or abridged (shorter versions of the original work) versions. Audio books can also be easily created by teachers and students.
Features
Audiobooks benefit students with physical disabilities such as visual impairments, students who have trouble turning pages, and students with reading difficulties. Students can also improve their reading fluency, reading comprehension, and pronunciation when they follow along with audiobooks.
